Two men stabbed in armed attack at former Omagh health centre

Victims, aged 31 and 27, seriously injured after van was forced into car park by car carrying three armed men
DETECTIVES are investigating a shocking early-morning attack in Omagh in which two men were stabbed by three assailants armed with a knife, billhook and machete.
The victims, aged 31 and 27, were attacked at the site of the former health centre on the Old Mountfield Road at around 1.30am earlier today, Thursday, October 22.
Both men are being treated in hospital for injuries described by police as serious but not life-threatening.
It is understood the victims were travelling in a van when they were forced into the car park at the former health centre by a blue or grey five-door saloon car.
Three men armed with weapons, including a knife, billhook and machete, then emerged from the car and launched the attack on the occupants of the van.
Another man and two women were also inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Detectives are investigating a potential link between the stabbing and an earlier altercation at a petrol station in the Campsie area, involving the two male victims.
That incident, which happened a short time before the attack on Old Mountfield Road, culminated in one of the men being struck by a silver Vauxhall Insignia.
The attack at the former health centre occurred shortly afterwards, with detectives now working to establish the full circumstances surrounding both incidents.
Police are appealing urgently for information and are asking anyone who witnessed either incident, or who may have captured footage that could assist the investigation, to come forward.
Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, doorbell camera recordings, dashcam footage or any other video that may help identify those involved or trace the movements of the vehicles.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 68 22/10/26.
