Omagh Photography Club members have shown that you don't need a fancy camera to capture a picture-perfect moment, putting their best shot forward in a lively Phone Photography Competition.

Held on Tuesday, October 20, the competition, kindly sponsored by online printing services FreeSnaps.co.uk, saw members turn their mobile phones into powerful photographic tools, producing an impressive collection of images that were certainly worth a closer look.

A total of 21 entries were put before the judges, with the excellent standard making it a tough call to separate the best of the bunch.

Taking the top spot was Cara Coll, whose beautifully detailed frosty landscape captured first place. It was a particularly special win for Cara, marking her first victory of the season while also retaining her winning position in the Phone Photography category.

Paul Fox claimed second place with a striking black-and-white photograph of the iconic Scott Monument in Edinburgh, while Bryan Hussey secured third with a fantastic night-time shot captured in Bruges, Belgium.

The winning images demonstrated the creativity, keen eye for detail and photographic talent within the club, proving that sometimes the best pictures are right there in the palm of your hand.

Omagh Photography Club extended a sincere thank you to everyone who entered, with the high quality of submissions ensuring the judges had their work cut out for them.

Photography enthusiasts who would like to see the results for themselves can view the full gallery of entries on the club's Facebook page by searching for Omagh Photography Club.

And there's no need to wait long for the next picture-perfect opportunity, as the club's next competition will be its Still Life Competition on Tuesday, November 3.

New members are always welcome, whether they are seasoned photographers or simply keen to learn how to get more out of their cameras and mobile phones.
