The £25,000 total was raised through a series of events and activities, including the group's annual Coffee Morning at Baronscourt Estate, the popular Bluebell Walk at the estate and the Girls' Night Out, which provided a fitting finale to the year's efforts.

Chairperson of Newtownstewart Cancer Focus, Sonia E Hassard, expressed her sincere gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the fundraising campaign, describing the achievement as a tremendous reflection of the generosity and support of the local community.

“ We are absolutely delighted to have raised £25,000 for Cancer Focus NI over the past year,” she said.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity and support of our local community, along with everyone who attended our fundraising events and contributed in any way.

“We would like to sincerely thank all the individuals, organisations and businesses who have supported us, including those who donated to our Coffee Morning, Bluebell Walk and Girls' Night Out.

“Every contribution makes a difference, and we are extremely grateful for the continued support we receive.”

The group also acknowledged the valuable backing of various organisations and individuals who had made generous donations, including Newtownstewart Masonic Lodge, as well as everyone who contributed through the collection boxes.

Members extended their heartfelt thanks to all those who had helped the group, whether directly or indirectly, throughout the year, emphasising that every donation, act of support and contribution had played its part in reaching the remarkable total.

The £25,000 raised will go towards supporting the vital work of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, which provides support and services for people affected by cancer.

The achievement is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together behind a worthwhile cause, with the success of the fundraising year reflecting the generosity, kindness and commitment of people throughout Newtownstewart and the surrounding area.

With £25,000 now raised for such an important charity, the group has plenty to celebrate and every reason to be proud of the tremendous difference its efforts will make.
