MINISTER for the Economy Caoimhe Archibald was in Omagh for the official opening of the new Granite Digital office at the Omagh Digi-Hub, in association with Invest NI.

MINISTER for the Economy Caoimhe Archibald was in Omagh on Wednesday afternoon last for the official opening of the new Granite Digital office at the Omagh Digi-Hub, in association with Invest NI.

The opening follows Granite’s acquisition of local agency Creative Media, which was announced on St Patrick’s Day at an event in New York.

The Minister heard about ambitious growth plans that will see Granite’s operations double in size within three years, with a focus on growth in the North American market.

Based in Cork, Granite Digital is Ireland’s largest independent digital marketing group, with a 200-strong workforce located across the UK, Europe and North America.

The Omagh office will serve as a flexible base for the company’s NI-based colleagues.

Speaking at the event, Minister Archibald said: “The opening of this new office is a significant milestone for the company and for Omagh. I met with Granite Digital during my visit to New York in March and was impressed by their plans to grow further in North America. To have an international company of this stature located in Omagh is a strong vote of confidence in the local talent. Invest NI will work closely with the company to continue its success locally and internationally.”

Granite Digital CEO Conor Buckley said: “I’m delighted to be here in Omagh for the official opening of our new office at the Digi-Hub and I’d like to thank Minister for the Economy Caoimhe Archibald for her attendance here today.

“The acquisition of Creative Media in March this year is part of an ambitious and ongoing expansion plan for Granite. It’s aimed at bringing our business model to North America, and furthering our goal of generating around half of our total revenue from that market by 2027.”

Granite also has offices in Dublin, Galway, Belfast, New York, Chicago, Washington DC and Dubai.

Marcus Isherwood, founder of Creative Media and now Chief Revenue Officer at Granite, added: “Today is a real milestone for Creative Media as we continue our integration with Granite Digital.

“Creative Media was proudly founded in Omagh over 25 years ago and while 65% of our business is exported to North America, we have always had great support in our home town. This office means our colleagues across Northern Ireland have a place to come together, and I’m pleased that we will continue to have roots here in Omagh under the Granite brand.”
