The recent event, held on Saturday, October 10, saw walkers turn out in force to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the popular forest park while supporting two worthy causes – Air Ambulance Northern Ireland and community funds.

Meeting at the park at 9.30am, participants embraced the opportunity to get active, enjoy the fresh air and share a few laughs along the way, all while helping raise funds for important services and initiatives that make a real difference to local people.

With the stunning scenery of Gortin Glen providing the perfect backdrop, the walk offered a wonderful opportunity for friends, families and members of the wider community to come together for a good cause.

The event combined the simple pleasures of a walk in the countryside with the satisfaction of knowing that every step helped support charitable and community work.

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland provides a vital emergency service, bringing advanced medical care to people who suffer serious injuries or medical emergencies in remote and hard-to-reach locations.

Meanwhile, the community fundraising element helped support the ongoing work of local initiatives, ensuring the benefits of the day extended beyond the forest trails.

Organised by Gillygooley Youth and Community Development Association, the walk was a celebration of community spirit, healthy activity and the power of people coming together to support others.

With walkers out in force and a worthy cause at its heart, the event proved a fitting way to enjoy the great outdoors while giving something back to the community.
