Visitors enjoyed an evening of spooky surprises and ghoulish games at a Halloween celebration organized by Culmore and O'Kane Residents Association and supported by the Housing Executive.
Taking place in O’Kane Park, residents competed in a homemade scarecrow competition and challenged themselves to escape an inflatable maze.
A range of old-fashioned stalls and games kept families entertained, whilst children got creative with pumpkin painting and enjoyed cauldrons of hot chocolate.
Michelle, from Culmore and O'Kane Residents Association (CKS), said: “Our spooktacular celebration was the perfect opportunity to bring the community together.
“Visitors got into the spirit with the scarecrow competition and families enjoyed playing bowling, hoopla, pin the nose on the witch and other traditional games.”
The Housing Executive supported the event with a community cohesion grant of almost £2000, which also supported delivery of a six-week football programme.
Chloe Scammell, Good Relations Officer at the Housing Executive, said: “Following the success of the football sessions this autumn, it was great to welcome tenants and residents to this all-age celebration.
“The evening was a fantastic opportunity for people to get into the Halloween spirit, enjoy traditional games and activities and strengthen connections between neighbours.”
