The events brought together students, staff and a range of internal and external organisations, showcasing the many opportunities available beyond the classroom. From student support services and wellbeing initiatives to clubs, societies and volunteering opportunities, as well as local businesses offering discount and freebies. The fairs gave students an insight into the full college experience at SWC.
Across all three campuses, students engaged with exhibitors, explored extracurricular activities and discovered the wide range of services available to support them throughout their studies. The events also provided an opportunity for students to meet new friends, build connections and learn more about college life.
Representatives from local organisations and community groups were on hand to offer advice, information and support, reinforcing SWC’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships that benefit students and the wider community.
Sharon Pritchard, Student Engagement and Support Manager said: “Our Freshers’ Fairs were a fantastic success and provided a warm welcome for both new and returning students. The events created a positive atmosphere across all three campuses and highlighted the many opportunities available to students both inside and outside the classroom. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved, meeting new people and making the most of everything SWC has to offer.”
